Board games and a paddle

spanked in front of her friends

It had been raining all day, skies gray, the sound of thunder in the distance, which made Erica look forward to her evening plans even more. It was the perfect day for spending inside, socializing with friends.
They weren’t her own friends she’d be hanging out with tonight however, she’d be making new ones – hopefully. Her friend Sarah had invited her to join their weekly board-game evening.
Sarah and Erica had known each-other since high-school, though more as acquaintances really, classmates but not friends. They’d not stayed in contact during their college years, and only met up again by coincidence when Erica had recognized her old classmate at the gym.
Erica had been quite excited to run into someone she knew. She’d only recently started going to the gym, and had been quite nervous as a woman going to such a place by herself. She’d seen a few too many influencer videos of men staring and ogling the women trying to workout. Her own experience had been less annoying than she’d feared, but she still felt safer with Sarah around.
That first day at the gym they’d caught up on old times and quickly arranged for their calendars to match up so that they could workout together.
Back in high-school, Erica and Sarah hadn’t talked much, they’d ran in different cliques, but now Erica found out they actually had more in common than she’d thought. One of those things was her love for board games, and when Sarah told her she and her friends met up every week to play, Erica expressed her wish that she’d have such a group of friends that she could play with. This of course, had led to tonight’s invitation.
Erica was a bit nervous, meeting a group of strangers – Sarah had told her none of the others were from the same high-school they used to go to, so she wouldn’t know any of them – but not too nervous. If they were the kind of people that play board-games together on a weekly basis, she thought, they had to be her kind of people.
She was ready to leave when she’d put on a casual dress and a long rain-coat, typed the address Sarah had provided into her phone, and – because she didn’t know whether she was supposed to bring something – tucked a bottle of red wine in her purse.

Erica arrived not much later at an apartment building not much unlike her own. She parked down the street and rushed through the rain to the front door.
She was quickly buzzed in and made her way to apartment number 304 on the third floor. The door was left slightly ajar, and she could hear soft music coming from inside. She pushed it open hesitantly, slightly nervous and hoping she was at the right address.
A young man in a casual outfit stood halfway between her and a table with more people further into the apartment. “Hi, you must be Erica,” he greeted her, “Welcome, please come in.”
Erica looked over his shoulder and recognized Sarah among the people at the table. “Hi, yes,” she replied. As she stepped inside, she noticed a large collection of shoes discarded to the side. “I brought this,” she said, trying to grab the bottle of wine from her purse while also taking off her shoes at the same time.
The man quickly took the bottle so that she could safely put her shoes with the others, “Thank you,” he said, “You didn’t have to… I’m Sebastian by the way, would you like something to drink?”
Erica glanced at the table again, and while her first instinct had been to say water was fine, she noticed most of them were drinking beer. “A beer?” she asked, not wanting to stand out.
At the table, Sarah had kept her a seat next to her, and when Erica sat down, she quickly introduced her friends. Two more guys were John and Philip – with Sebastian making three; while Emma, Sophie and Melanie – together with Erica and Sarah – made five, giving the women the majority.
Sebastian then joined them at the table with her beer, and they quickly set up the first game, it seemed that Erica had been the last to join.
She was surprised at first that they dove straight into the games, but then again, they could talk and socialize while playing. In some of the conversations, she felt left out, for she didn’t know their history or circumstances, but the group quickly filled her in on the details, asked for her opinion and made her feel involved. Erica quickly felt welcomed and part of the group. They also of course, wanted to know all about her, which meant she ended up talking more than any one of them.

The first game told her, that while they were all laughing and playful, they also took their games serious. Some of them seemed quite competitive, and all of them were much better at strategizing than Erica, which is not much of a surprise as she barely got the opportunity to play, while they did so on a weekly basis. Unlike their hospitable behavior when it came to welcoming her to the group however, they were merciless when it came to the game. The consensus seemed to be, that she’d get the hang of it quickly, and it was better to learn through failure than be given a win she didn’t deserve.
She lost that game rather unimpressively, staying last on the scoreboard from begin to end. As the game was being put away and a second was chosen, she promised herself that she’d focus and do better.
That second game Erica did do better, trying to focus as they distracted her with their questions. She wondered for a moment whether their prying inquiries were meant as a diversion, yet she had to admit that they talked among each-other as much as they did to her. When she started falling behind again, she knew it was because of her own lack of experience alone.

In between games, Erica noticed they all seemed to feel very at home here, getting up to help themselves to drinks from the fridge, or disappearing to what she assumed was the bathroom. By the time they’d finished the second game, over two hours had passed and she hadn’t had anything else to drink except that beer Sebastian had brought her. She’d also been filling up on the snacks that were provided.
When Sarah got up from her chair, she quickly followed her to the kitchen-area and grabbed another beer for herself. It felt a bit weird taking that for herself in a stranger’s home, but it seemed like that was what expected.
“So, are you enjoying yourself?” her friend asked.
Erica smiled broadly and nodded fervently, “Oh yes, I’m having a blast, thank you so much for inviting me.”
“No problem,” Sarah replied, “We needed an eight for some of the games anyway,” she replied with a wink.
Erica grinned and looked around at the group of people. The apartment was largely divided in three areas, the kitchen area where she and Sarah were standing, the center area with the large table where the others were gathering for the next game, and the sitting area with a large couch and a TV that was currently being used to play some music. She was having so much fun this evening, she wished she could join them every week. Perhaps she could, she thought, if they liked her as much as she did them.
“What’s he doing?” Erica asked as she noticed Sebastian by himself in the sitting-area.
“Oh, just writing down the standings I assume,” Sarah replied, though for some reason she sounded too innocent, as if she was trying too hide something.
“Really, you guys keep score?” Erica asked.
Her friend chuckled, “Yeah, maybe I should’ve mentioned that when I invited you,” she replied, “Perhaps you should go have a look.”
Curious, and slightly confused, Erica made her way to the area where Sebastian was. He was writing in a small book, and she wondered whether those were the scores of tonight, or if they kept standings for all the games they played together. Whatever they were, she thought, she’d be in last.
“Hey, having fun?” Sebastian greeted her when she joined him. He’d just closed the book and placed it back down on the small table beside him.
“Yeah,” Erica replied, and then noticed the other item lying beside the small book, a large wooden paddle. Her mind raced for a second to think what it could be used for, some sport or game perhaps, or dusting carpets, … but she knew what it was really for. This was an implement to spank someone with. In fact, if you looked up the word paddle in a BDSM dictionary, this was probably the image that went with it: a simple, thick wooden plank with a long handle, and two rows of holes drilled through the board.
By the time she said something, Sebastian had noticed what she was looking at, so there was no denying that. “What’s that?” she asked, adding a slightly teasing tone to her voice, thinking that perhaps someone had forgotten to clean up before having friends over. She didn’t judge of course, in fact, she was quite curious which of her new friends were the kinky ones, she’d always had a bit of an interest herself.
“That’s the Last Place Paddle,” Sebastian replied with a smile.
Erica raised an eyebrow, for he’d said those words as if they were capitalized, as if she should know what they meant. “What’s the last place paddle?” she asked.
Sebastian slapped one hand on the paddle’s board, “This bad boy,” he said, “Is what we use to spank however ends in last place tonight.”
Now both Erica’s eyebrows rose as she looked at the paddle in silence, then at Sebastian, then back at the paddle.
“Sarah didn’t tell you?” Sebastian asked.
Erica giggled nervously, “Nope, she definitely didn’t.”
Sebastian shook his head and chuckled, “Of course she didn’t, that little minx…”
Erica licked her lips. Was he teasing her? She wondered. There’s no way this was real, right? They didn’t give a paddling to whomever was last. This was just a prank, something to tease the newbie in the group. “You’re joking, right?” she said.
“Not at all,” Sebastian replied, “But hey, I understand if that’s not for you, you can still back out.”
Erica shook her head, “I don’t believe you,” she said, she wasn’t going to let him prank her like this.
Sebastian smiled and picked up the book he’d been writing in before, “Here, have a look,” he said.
Erica took the book, it was heavier than it seemed. On the last page were just their names and their scores, but on the previous pages, the scoreboards were accompanied by a picture that had been pasted on, lots and lots of pictures that gave the book its weight. Every one of these pictures showed the same thing, a single person bent over a table, their photo taken from behind with that same large wooden paddle either hovering above them, or resting against their upturned backside.
Erica could recognize the faces of those that looked over their shoulder behind them, they were the friends she’d made tonight. It could be edited, she thought, or made by AI, but it seemed real, and too much work to fake for a simple prank.
She couldn’t help herself, and flicked through all the pages, looking at all the photos. She seemed certain that every one of the people she’d met tonight were featured in them, though some of them more than others, and the women more than the men. It didn’t surprise her really, from the two games she’d played, the men had been far more competitive.
Erica felt her face getting warmer, blushing as she stared at those photos. Not only where they bent over the table in such a provocative way, but in most – though not all – skirts were raised or trousers lowered to reveal cute or sexy panties and vulnerable, plump bottoms, some of those already turning red, as if the picture was taken mid action.
When she imagined herself in a similar situation, Erica quickly placed the book back on the table, it was getting too hot in here, she thought, and too hard to breathe. “But I don’t have to do that, you said?” She asked.
Sebastian smiled, “Of course not, nobody is forced to play along.”
Erica smiled, slightly relieved, and yet also a bit torn. Perhaps she did want to play along, a rebellious part of her brain thought. “So it wouldn’t matter if I don’t win any more games?” she asked.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, “Well, it wouldn’t be fair to the others if you joined the games… But you can stay and have a drink.”
Erica frowned, it didn’t seem fair that she wouldn’t be allowed to play if she didn’t want to risk such a spanking, but then again, they all risked it. She had to admit to herself that Sebastian was right, it would be unfair for her to play along under different rules.
What really wasn’t fair, she thought, was that she’d finally found a group of people she could play games with, just to find out there were such strings attached to it. If she didn’t play, she was surely not going to get invited again, and she was having so much fun.
After a moment of hesitation, Erica decided to just go for it. It would be worth it, she told herself, to be part of this group, to keep the friends she made tonight. She tried to tell herself that she could still win some games and not finish last, but with already two last places by her name, that seemed unlikely. And if she would be completely honest with herself, that was partly the reason for her agreeing. She’d always had a bit of a kinky side herself, part of her was secretly aroused by the idea, and looking forward to it. “No, I think I’ll keep playing,” she said, “I’m not scared.”
Sebastian grinned, “Good, let’s go,” and the two of them joined the others at the table.
